The Beginning of a Vision

Seventeen years ago, Dr. Bisa set out to create a curriculum that would do more than teach facts. The goal was to build a foundation where children could explore, ask questions, and develop skills that last a lifetime. WINGS Curriculum was designed to support early educators with clear, engaging lessons that encourage hands-on learning and creativity.

From the start, the curriculum focused on:

  • Encouraging curiosity through exploration

  • Supporting social and emotional development

  • Integrating arts and movement into daily learning

  • Building strong literacy and numeracy skills

This approach quickly resonated with educators and families who wanted more than traditional teaching methods. The curriculum’s success is rooted in its ability to adapt to diverse classrooms and meet children where they are.

Building a Community of Educators and Families

The strength of WINGS Curriculum lies in its community. Over the years, thousands of educators, families, trainers, and partners have contributed to its growth and impact. Their feedback and dedication have shaped the curriculum into a flexible, practical tool that works in real classrooms.

Educators appreciate how WINGS supports their work by providing:

  • Clear lesson plans that save preparation time

  • Activities that engage children of different learning styles

  • Resources that connect learning to real-world experiences

Families find value in the curriculum’s focus on holistic development. It helps children build confidence and skills that extend beyond the classroom. Trainers and partners play a key role by sharing best practices and expanding access to the curriculum in various communities.

Impact on Early Learning Experiences

WINGS Curriculum has transformed early learning by making education meaningful and joyful. Children are not just passive recipients of information; they become active participants in their learning journey. This shift has led to noticeable improvements in:

  • Engagement and enthusiasm for learning

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Social skills and cooperation with peers

  • Creativity and self-expression

For example, one preschool using WINGS reported that children were more eager to participate in group activities and showed greater independence in completing tasks. Another early childhood center highlighted how the curriculum’s arts integration helped children express emotions and develop fine motor skills.

One of our favorite reflections over the years is from an early childhood educator at a nationally-accredited, military-operated childcare center who exclaimed to Dr. Bisa while she was developing the second edition of WINGS Curriculum, "You didn't leave anything out the first time. I mean... You thought of everything! I don't know what else you could add to this curriculum; it already has everything."

Embracing the Present and Future

As WINGS Curriculum celebrates 17 years, it continues to evolve. The team behind it listens closely to educators and families to improve content and delivery. New resources and training opportunities are regularly introduced to keep pace with changing educational needs.

Looking ahead, WINGS aims to:

  • Expand digital resources for easier access

  • Increase support for diverse learners and inclusive classrooms

  • Foster partnerships that bring the curriculum to underserved areas

  • Continue promoting a love of learning that lasts a lifetime

This commitment ensures that WINGS remains a valuable tool for early educators and a source of inspiration for young children and families everywhere.

Celebrating Together

The 17th anniversary of WINGS Curriculum is a celebration of shared passion and dedication. It honors the educators who bring lessons to life, the families who support learning at home, and the children who inspire every step of the way. This milestone is a reminder that education is a journey best traveled together.

To everyone who has been part of this story: thank you for your commitment to nurturing young minds. The future is bright when we continue to support curiosity, creativity, and growth in every child.

Let’s keep soaring toward new heights in early learning.
